We’re starting a new weekly vlog series run by Co-Owner Ron Harris. Subscribe to this channel to stay updated with what we’re doing at the shop every week.
Any time is a good time. The best times however are leading into the winter months and the spring time. Detailing your car leading into the winter months allows the Nano Coating to protect your cars finish during the harsh months of the year while at it’s strongest level of protection. The spring time detail allows us to decontaminate the interior of germs and the exterior of road contaminates
You may think spending, what some would see as, the vehicles total resale value detailing it and repairing some minor door dings somewhat foolish. Why not take the money, sell the car and apply it towards a new modern one with heated seats, navigation, and a backup camera? Have you ever heard the saying…
It’s not often a car comes through our shop that captures every ones attention, makes people ask “what is that”? Or inspires people to tell stories about cars they’ve owned in the past. The Sin, a 1997 Toyota Supra does just that. When you see the Sin it doesn’t have a hard edgy body like most modern sports cars being produced today.
It’s going to happen someday. Your car or truck is going to get a nasty, ugly dent or ding like this one. Doors and fenders are all prime targets for parking lot damage. What you do when this happens could save you a pocket full of money.
Concours Auto Salon’s paintless dent repair service saved this truck fender. A body shop would have sanded, added body fillers and the entire fender would need to have new paint applied. A body shop would have charged $500 to $700 dollars or more to repair this damage. It would be out of service for 3 days or more and the possibility that the paint may not match exactly is there.
Paintless Dent Repair Is A Smart Repair
Smart Repair can’t be defined in one sentence. It could be that a person chose the best type of repair for their situation, the best repair for their pocketbook or did extensive research to find the right shop for their dent repair. We feel that a smart repair is the least invasive, saves time and saves money.
Saving This Fender With Paintless Dent Repair
The front fender on this Toyota Tundra was hit by a shopping cart. The damage was deep, the edge was bent and the body was pushed in. Most would take it straight to a body shop. However, this owner has used our services before on the same truck. He knew what our Vale certified paintless dent repair tech was capable of and came straight to us. The repair time was long (about 4 hours) but the savings were huge. The repair cost less than a body shop and was completed in hours not days. The factory finish remained intact.
During the last two months we’ve been offering the New Optimum Gloss-Coat paint coating process. We can report that everyone loves it.
Gloss -Coat is similar to the Opti-Coat Pro we already offer. Yet it doesn’t have the 5 year warranty that the Opti-Coat Pro has. The durability is only good for up to two years. Gloss coat is slick to the touch, hydrophobic and can be applied on top of Opti-Coat Pro. Adding Opti-Coat Pro makes your cars paint look even glossier and feels super soft.
The Gloss-Coat application process is the same as Opti-Coat Pro. We start by thoroughly washing the vehicle. Then we decontaminate the paint using Optimum FereX and detailers clay. This ensures that the paint is contaminate free. We then dry the surface with compressed air. Primer polish (Optimum Prime) is then used to gently polish the paint. This brings out thew shine and readys the paint for the Gloss-Coat. Gloss-Coat is then applied one panel at a time until the vehicle is done.
Gloss-Coat is Optimum Polymer Technologies answer to all the copy cat paint coating that have popped up the past few years. Most offer no warranty and some offer only 2 years vs the 5 year Opti-Coat Pro comes with. Most of these new coatings cost double or triple the price and are imported from a foreign country. Opt-Coat Pro and Gloss-Coat are made here in America.
If having a car that stays cleaner longer, keeps it shine longer, is easier to clean and overall just looks better. Consider having us professionally apply one of Optimum Polymer Technologies premium paint coatings. It’s the #1 paint coating in America and the only one will offer you at Concours Auto Salon.
Concours Auto Salon is now offering Hydrographics to it’s list of services.
What Is Hydrographics
Hydrographics or HydroGraphics, also known as immersion printing, water transfer printing, water transfer imagingcubic or hydro dipping, is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional objects. The hydrographic process can be used on metal, plastic, glass, hard woods, and various other materials. In the process, the substrate piece to be printed is pre-treated and a base coat material is applied. A Polyvinyl film is then floated on the surface of a vat of heated and filtered water. An activator chemical is sprayed on the film to dissolve it into a liquid and activate a bonding agent. The piece that will have the transfer applied to it is then lowered into the vat, through the floating ink layer, which wraps around and adheres to it. After removing the piece from the water, a clear coat is applied to protect the design. With multiple dippings, hydrographics printing can achieve full 360° coverage of the part surface, including small crevices.
There are many many design films offered and with the ability to change the base color of the part to be dipped the options are almost limitless. Form woodgrain, brushed metal, floral patterns, camouflage and carbon fiber we can totally change the look of the parts and pieces to be dipped.
Is it Durable ?
The parts and pieces we dip are just as durable as your automotive paint finish. We use a top grade automotive clear coat over the dipped part. We offer the finish in high gloss and matt finish.
Time And Cost
Small single parts can be dipped and finished in as little as 2 days. Large complex or multiple parts can take up to 5 working days.
The cost can vary depending on the size, complexity and if we will be responsible for removal and installation or disassembly.
Examples Of Our Work
Recently we applied carbon fiber film to several interior and exterior pieces of vehicles. From mirror covers, rear wings to interior trim pieces. Below are a few photo examples of those pieces.
